Lip Augmentation to Hydrate Dry Chapped Lips

Lip augmentation to hydrate dry chapped lips

Did you know your lips do not have oil glands which can make them more susceptible to dryness? Dry, chapped and cracked lips can be avoided with naturally hydrating lip fillers.

Lip fillers consisting of hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance naturally produced by the body, replaces lost volume and infuses lips with hydration. The HA naturally attracts and retains moisture for smooth, hydrated lips that last 6 to 12 months.

Your advanced injector can provide hydrating lip filler to relieve dry chapped lips and smooth and moisturize your lips while maintaining your natural look or enhancing your lips - the choice is yours!

What causes dry, chapped lips?

Lack of humidity and moisture in winter can cause lips to become dry, chapped and cracked. Sun exposure will also damage our lips and skin which is why sunscreen should also be applied to our lips. While some may think that licking your lips adds moisture, it will actually make dry lips worse.

Some medication can also dry out our lips. Vitamin A, retinoids, lithium and chemotherapy drugs will also dry out our lips.

What can I do to prevent dry, chapped lips?

In addition to hydrating your lips with lip filler, you should also consider;

 -Stay hydrated – drink lots of water

 -Apply lip balm that heals (see chart below) and protects your lips from the sun

 -Use a humidifier in your home

 -Cover your mouth with a scarf when outside in winter
