How to get rid of lip lines?

Vertical lip lines around the lips can form as we age. Anti aging treatments like Botox, dermal fillers and platelet rich plasma treatments can all help smooth over lips lines.

The treatment recommended will depend on the type of lines and to some extent, your preferences.

When lines are still very fine, Botox may be enough to relax the muscle that causes the lines. Your Botox treated lines will take a few days to show results that will last about 3 months.

For deep lip lines, small doses of dermal filler applied by an experienced injector to the area will smooth creases immediately with results that will last up to 12 months. The area around the mouth has more movement which may cause filler to break down before the 12 months.

In situations where volume loss of the lips could be causing skin to wrinkle around the mouth, lip filler can replace lost volume for natural looking, smooth lips and in doing so, tighten the skin around the lips to reduce lip lines.

Why do I have lip lines?

Similar to the forehead, muscle movements create the lip lines that eventually don’t bounce back as skin loses volume and elasticity. Some also refer to them as smokers lines because those who smoke, speed up skin aging and the motion from smoking will cause these lines.

What does it cost to treat lip lines?

The cost of treatment depends on how deep the lines are, the area affected by the lines and the outcome desired. For example; Botox may be less expensive but it may not be the treatment that will give you the result you need. When you compare the cost of the units required to the cost of a syringe, there is not much difference and with dermal fillers, results will last much longer.

Is there a natural way to make lip lines go away?

If you are more interested in a natural treatment to improve skin texture and quality, platelet rich plasma treatments will over time, rejuvenate the skin. With a Hollywood facial, you can also fill surface lines with dermal filler while applying PRP with a specialized, microinfusion device.
